Full Time: 37hrs

We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Technical to join Crocus Homes to lead the Technical function within Crocus Homes across numerous developments to ensure these can be delivered on time, to the highest of standards, to an agreed budget and above all, in a safe manner.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead on Crocus’ Utility designs by tendering, appointing and managing statutory undertaker or multi utilities companies to ensure coordination and no delays in terms of site deliveries of materials/work.
  • Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations including designers risk assessments are appropriate and issued to our H&S Consultant and construction team as required.
  • Always control the quality of drawn information and address any non-compliant issues, through interrogating design from subcontractors and suppliers to remove problems before they reach other team members including the site team (in line with Programme milestones).
  • Deliver design packages on time and accurately to the wider teams and create your own reporting style that clearly and concisely allows others to monitor progress and against agreed design programme.

Our Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Education and Qualifications:

  • Level 7 Construction or HND in Construction or demonstrable equivalent experience (E).

Experience:

  • Management experience at a senior level / Head or Director of Technical (E).
  • Previous demonstrable experience as a senior manager within a volume house builder (E).
  • Familiarity/experience with COINS (D).
  • CDM for Principal Designers experience preferred.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of people.
  • Ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to plan and programme work methods and build sequence for sites. • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and motivate teams to achieve objectives.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Control preliminary costs in accordance with budget.
  • Excellent organisational and administration skills with the ability to manage conflicting priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work on own initiative, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficient IT skills including all Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and outlook).
  • Committed to diversity and inclusion.

Personal Attributes:

  • Chartered Membership of a recognised Professional Body preferred (RICS/RIBA/CIAT/CIOB).
  • Relevant CSCS card or equivalent.
  • Full UK driving licence.
